Piggy Back Yall!!!

Weird title and picture but it does serve a purpose lol I promise
Ok well I was on one of my favorite blogs www.bglhonline.com and I came across an article dated
02 December 2010 Hair Confessions: Are you doing the most? thought it was so funny to think about when I first BC my hair 1/8/2011...first lets start with my reply:

"Oh goodness where to start!!???!! lol Ok well when I first BC 1/8/2011 I was so overloaded with excitement of wanting to try all the products I seen on youtube and wanting my hair to look like everyone elses on all the blog sites. I overloaded my hair with so much oil and leave in conditioners I would have white spots in my hair!!! I mean I was caking it on like crazy! Oil all running down my neck and staining my pillow cases! lol smh what was I doing????? I am jump on board with everyone else with the oily bathtubs! I actually did fall in the tub! lol so sad…I use to retwist my hair nightly for my twist outs! I mean actually redo ALL THE TWISTS! I would spend over an hour twisting every night! Oh man when I was able to do a puff I would puff it out EVERYDAY! I am too blessed to still have edges!!! I spend 70 dollars my first time getting products from Target and THEN ordered MORE products from online and spent 70 more dollars! Yes indeed doing the most! I have downed the amount of products I have and I try not to buy more until I finish what I already have and I have stopped comparing my curls to others and I am now in love with my own hair"

Goodness I had to learn learn learn and learn so much about MY hair..not everyone elses but MINE. I was so obsessed with keeping up with The Curlies I could not see my hair for what it was for BEAUTIFUL! It took my awhile to get in the groove but I think I got it now! lol I am coming up on a year since my BC!! Wow time has passed and I am too happy about my minimal product inventory and better knowledge on HOW to use what I already have. Less is more and thank God I got the idea of that through my head because I so thought adding a gallon of random oils to every product I owed would make them better....lol...smh... I have learned and willingly to spread my knowledge to stop others from making my same mistakes I made...BEWARE OF PRODUCT OVERLOAD  DONT END UP LIKE THE PICTURE lol

Its Not What You Use But How You Use it!

And my post is just that....when it comes to products and methods it is really more about HOW you use a product rather than what kind of product it is. I mean of course the TYPE of product matters alot but you can have the best products in the world but all of that does not matter if you DONT KNOW HOW TO USE IT! I have revisited many products from my past and they have worked wonders NOW. I have to ask myself WHY DIDNT IT WORK BEFORE???????? Well then I think back and I remember I had no idea about uses and HOW much to use. My main issue was the much I would use...I had in my head the more the better. WRONG ANSWER! My hair would be weighed down and I was having to wash it alot because I had so much product build up. I have learned how to use alot of products and to pull back on the urge to slap on 50 pounds of products all the time. With that lesson I have also saved money on products because I am not using up everything all the time! Well except for my conditioners and deep conditioners...smh...I blow through those of so very quickly lol I havent mastered that just yet! I am working on it....somewhat.

Henna FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I took 2 weeks off of my henna schedule and for like the first time EVER I waited 2 weeks to wash my hair! lol Ugh! I know!!!! So sad and ewh! I wanted to wait until i henna'ed so I could do the detangling and twisting so i waited until I had all the time to do it the right way. So I mixed up my henna and henna'ed my friends hair also. I let my henna stay in for about 12hrs or so ( I went to sleep). After I wash out my henna I like to use conditioner to get some of the particules out. I know I should juse go get a sifter but I have yet to do it. So I like to use a really good conditioner to get some of the left over henna out. I like to Organix Coconut Milk Conditoner. I was too delighted when I found they sold it in a SUPER HUGE bottle for like 6.99 at Walmart. I jumped on it! It is my top favorite product line also.

I deep conditoned with an old familiar friend Shea Moisture Deep Treament Masque. The first time I used it I did not know what I was doing so the end results were not great but this time I loved it oh so very much!

Once I washed out the Deep Treatment Masque my hair was so soft and very defined curls and just lovely. I tried to get a good picture but yah know how that works out lol

I was loving my hair!!!!! Could not stop touching it! So then I used some samples I got from the All Natural Hair Show and Expo....I did grab a few packets because I did want to try them! They were from a company called III Sister's of Nature and it is called Sweet Bounce Back. they compare this product to Miss Jessie's Super Sweetback. Now being that I have never used a Miss Jessie's product in my life I cannot do the comparison but I do like the product. It smells nice a real light scent and it is not a heavy product.
Now to get a sort of firm hold I did run alittle bit of my Koils gel through my hair before running the Sweet Bounce Back and then twisting in to smaller twist on top and medium size twists in the back and middle.
(ignore the look on my face lol idk why my eyes are closed)

I pinned all my twists down as i usually do and I hope my twist out turns out good! I will update with pictures tomorrow! *hugs*

Would You Really Choose Length over Health????

Hello All! I just had to write this because I see so many people that rather have long hair instead of healthy hair. I understand in the eyes of many length is the epitome of beauty…not in my eyes but in the eyes of many. I have spoken to several women who have thinning hair and inches and inches of split ends but REFUSE to cut their hair to a healthier length. If I can see the damage then why can’t YOU? Are you too blinded by the fact that you have a little bit of length? OK people I understand you want the your hair flowing in the wind and you want to look like a movie star but……let’s take a closer look at your actual hair strands. If your ends are really frayed and uneven and super thin…your best bet might be to clip them. Now if you really really are against cutting your hair ok fine but AT LEAST take care of the obviously problem! A deep conditioning would not kill you. Take time out of your life to really take care of your hair. Care for your strands and figure out exactly what your hair needs to get back healthy.

Ok now you know I am all for the natural hair “movement” (as people like to call it) and I would encourage anyone to go natural and I would help them every step of the way BUT once again we need to focus on the HEALTH of the hair. If you notice your hair is super dry, thin, it curls and then is straight and it is shedding a lot….you REALLY need to think about health. I get a lot of people telling me they rather have hair like mines BUT they fail to know what all I do to my hair to promote health. I put hours into my hair and I spend money to find products that work for MY hair. I am willingly to set aside the time and effort to assure my hair remains healthy and I listen to my hair. Over the past few months I have learned to not fight with my hair but to work with it. I am in LOVE with my hair so I can appreciate its beauty. Ahhh my love affair with my hair lol

I don’t try to force everyone in the world to go natural BUT a lot of people can benefit from listening to their hair but hey I am a lover of the natural!!! =0) I just feel like overall we should care about the health instead of NOT wanting to cut it due to length-phobia and not wanting to put the time in and caring about what other people hair looks like. We cannot continue comparing our curls to others! I had to stop doing it myself because I am TOO in love with Curly Nikki’s hair *fans self* it is BEAUTIFUL! Forget my hair we all need to look at hers! Lol Just Playing…kinda…sorta…ok naw I am lol But then again she has AMAZING hair because she takes the time to give her hair EXACTLY what it needs when it needs it! EDUCATION PEOPLE!!!! Learn and EDUCATE!!!! I google daily and I am on blogs DAILY!!!! I like learning new tricks and methods that will improve my hair care regime. I am open to ideas so HOLLA AT ME!!!!
